1 Large Onion, diced
1 Tall Can Evaporated Milk
1 8 oz. Can Mushrooms, sliced
2 Lbs. Crabmeat or Cooked Shrimp or 1 pound of each
7 Cups Liquid use the evaporated milk, liquid from the mushrooms and then finish with tap water to total 7 cups
2 Sticks Margarine
1 Cup Flour
Red & Black Pepper, Salt & Tabasco to taste
Preheat oven to 325 F. Cook onions in margarine with the salt, pepper and seasoning until onion is soft. Add flour and cook until bubbly. Add 7 cups liquid slowly and cook until thick Add mushrooms, stir well and then fold in the crabmeat or shrimp. Pour in 3 quart casserole and bake until bubbly. Serve on toast, patty shells or use as a dip with Melba rounds.
