1 large loaf of French bread (stale or fresh)
1 cup milk
2 teaspoons sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
Sprinkle of cinnamon and nutmeg
2 tablespoons margarine
Slice bread into I-inch slices. Mix eggs, milk, sugar, and vanilla. Sprinkle cinnamon or nutmeg into egg mixture. Melt margarine in a large skillet. Dip slices of bread into egg mixture until it has thoroughly absorbed the mixture, then fry in skillet. After the bread is fried, sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve warm.
